In My Lifetime

1982 was the first time I’d ever heard of “Gay Cancer”.

Ronald Reagan sat on his ass for 8 years and did NOTHING except get Nancy to “Just say No.”

In 1992, Mike Huckabee, the latest Republican “Point of Light” wrote "If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague."

After many losses through the years, Joe and I lost ANOTHER friend to AIDS this past October.

George Bush is running around the world telling everyone who will listen (pretty much nobody since he ruined our country's credibility) that he is spending money to help AIDS victims around the world (if they go to the right church).

In my lifetime, a Republican President ignored a devastating disease, a Republican Lt. Governor of Arkansas wanted to “isolate” the victims, and now the latest Republican President wants to spend a pittance on the victims while spending One Bazillion Dollars finding new people to kill in Iraq.

If this doesn’t convince you that we have serious and important work to do in 2008, perhaps this will.

The current White House spokesperson, Dana Perino, after being asked about the Cuban Missile Crisis during a press conference, said "I was panicked a bit because I really don't know about . . . the Cuban Missile Crisis,".

WE CAN, WILL, AND MUST CHANGE THE WORLD!
